La'Roy Bodiford discovered his love for jazz as a child, listening to music on a tape player radio his sister gifted him. He nurtured this passion by joining the beginner band at Luverne Elementary in Alabama. Throughout high school, La’Roy often made the All-State Band and All-State Jazz Band. After graduating, he served four years in the United States Marine Corps. Once he completed his service, he turned his musical dreams into a career. He has toured with American Idol winner Ruben Studdard and performed alongside renowned jazz musicians like Jeff Lorber and Rick Braun. Recently, La'Roy has become one of the most sought-after sidemen in the southeast, but he truly excels in his own performances and leading his band.
