Matthew Devine is a singer and multi-instrumentalist from Birmingham, AL. He has a remarkable talent for fitting into any musical situation comfortably and drawing in everyone around him, audience and band members alike. His versatility creates an exciting musical experience. After receiving a Master’s degree in music composition, he became the co-founder of the legendary Birmingham band Downright, all the while honing his skills as a jazz pianist. He has since become a mainstay on the Alabama scene playing a repertoire that encompasses classic jazz standards to creative interpretations of modern rock and pop.

Standard Time
Standard Time is comprised of Birmingham-based musicians consisting of trumpet, guitar, bass and vocals. Standard Time performs music by popular composers such as Duke Ellington, The Gershwins, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Rodgers & Hart, and performers like Harry Connick Jr., Louis Armstrong, Billy Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Nat “King” Cole, and others. Standard Time also ventures into bebop and “modern” composers like Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, and more. They has been a staple in Birmingham area going on 30-years, where the strive to keep the sounds of traditional jazz alive.

The Desmond Sykes Trio
A staple of the Birmingham, Alabama music scene, saxophonist Desmond Sykes has played with and led local bands for over a decade, including leading the legendary Monday night jazz jam sessions at Little Italy in the Five Points neighborhood. He currently tours nationally with the renowned Black Jacket Symphony.
His trio, featuring Davis Little on guitar, and Jordan Stone on drums, plays a wide range of jazz from swing and blues to bebop and is not to be missed.

La'Roy Bodiford discovered his love for jazz as a child, listening to music on a tape player radio his sister gifted him. He nurtured this passion by joining the beginner band at Luverne Elementary in Alabama. Throughout high school, La’Roy often made the All-State Band and All-State Jazz Band. After graduating, he served four years in the United States Marine Corps. Once he completed his service, he turned his musical dreams into a career. He has toured with American Idol winner Ruben Studdard and performed alongside renowned jazz musicians like Jeff Lorber and Rick Braun. Recently, La'Roy has become one of the most sought-after sidemen in the southeast, but he truly excels in his own performances and leading his band.

The Alley / Mayor Duo
Trumpeter Rob Alley and pianist Pedro Mayor are each accomplished musicians individually, but together they make for a special combination, playing intimate and swinging renditions of jazz classics and The Great American Songbook.
